Job Description Summary

The APP will work collaboratively with board-certified vascular surgeons to provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of vascular conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. This individual will also serve as a key member of the surgical team, assisting physicians in the operating room during vascular procedures and supporting patients throughout the perioperative continuum of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.

  • Evaluate and manage patients with vascular diseases including peripheral arterial disease, carotid artery disease, aneurysms, venous disorders, and dialysis access conditions.

  • Assist with pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management.

  • First assist in vascular surgical procedures as applicable and credentialed.

  • Perform hospital rounds, consultations, discharge planning, and follow-up care.

  • Order, interpret, and communicate diagnostic tests, laboratory results, and imaging studies.

  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.

  • Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, surgical procedures, medications, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Document clinical encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record.

  • Participate in call coverage and after-hours patient care as assigned.

  • Coordinate care with physicians, nursing staff, care managers, and other multidisciplinary team members.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and evidence-based practice guidelines.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

  • Current Florida APRN or PA-C licensure.

  • National certification as an APRN or Physician Assistant.

  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
