Location: Ocala, FL - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner, Cardiovascular Surgery
We are seeking a dedicated Cardiothoracic Surgical Physician Assistant to join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role focuses on outpatient cardiology care, supporting patients with cardiovascular conditions through diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care in collaboration with supervising cardiologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive outpatient cardiology care under physician supervision.
- Conduct physical exams, obtain medical histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
- Manage chronic cardiovascular conditions (e.g., hypertension, hyperlipidemia, heart failure).
- Adjust pacemaker settings and interpret electrocardiograms.
- Supervise and interpret nuclear and treadmill stress tests.
- Provide post-procedural follow-up and anticoagulation therapy management.
- Assist with or independently perform minor in-office procedures.
- Educate patients on disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.
- Participate in call coverage and occasional evening/weekend shifts as needed.
Education & Experience
- Master of Science Physician Assistant studies.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a cardiology setting.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Florida Physician Assistant license.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

- Provides Direct Patient Care in Floors and Units.
- Assists physicians with coordination of clinical activities and orders.
