You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of self-care, psychosocial needs, education, environment and discharge planning, incorporating information from the identified significant other and other health providers.
  • Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures that are basic to the screening of physical signs and symptoms.
  • Utilizes fetal monitoring screening for auscultating, monitoring, and assessment of fetal heart tones.
  • Assesses learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious practices, language barriers, emotional barriers, educational level, motivation and limitations.
  • Documents patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Manages the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted jointly by the certified nurse midwife, and attending physician.  Review and revise protocols/guidelines annually.  Addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, educational, and discharge needs.
  • Initiates referrals to external or internal care providers or community agencies as needed.
  • Seeks appropriate resources to clarify information concerning the nursing/medical care regime as needed.  Coordinates care by collaborating with physicians and others to obtain appropriate services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.

The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.

AdventHealth Primary Care Network is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APRN or PA-C) to join an existing practice in Palm Harbor, Florida.  AdventHealth Primary Care Network is a primary care group aligned with AdventHealth specialty physicians that uses leading technology, innovation, and compassion to deliver whole-person care. Join our team of 350+ primary care providers throughout the AdventHealth Florida region.

Education and Experience Required:

• Master’s degree in Nursing (FNP) or Physician Assistant studies

• Experienced in primary care outpatient required.

• Experience treating patients of all ages and a variety of acute & chronic conditions required

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

• Current, valid Florida APRN or PA-C license

• Current, valid DEA license

• ANCC, AANP or NCCPA (or equivalent) certification

• Current BLS required; ACLS preferred

• Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
• Independent and collaborative medical management of acute and chronic conditions
• Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
• Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff

General Summary:

The PA or APRN under the supervision of the Physician, who acts as the collaborative practitioner, is responsible for:

  • Performs physical examinations of patients; evaluation and treatment of acute and chronic urologic conditions also including urologic oncology within the hospital setting
  • Procedures to include catheter replacement/removal, injections, ultrasounds, prostate biopsies • Orders and interprets appropriate diagnostic tests, such as routine laboratory, X-ray, etc.
  • Monitors the patient's course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician and staff as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all time as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public.
  • Strong communication skills

Location: Sebring, FL - Specialty: Physician Assistant, Orthopedics

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking an APP (APRN or Physician Assistant) to join our growing Orthopedic Surgery specialty practices in Lake Placid and Sebring, Florida, covering the clinic and occasionally the hospital. 

Highlights:

Experience is not required in Orthopedic Surgery.
