AdventHealth Medical Group is recruiting an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join OB/GYN Group in Tampa, FL. The OB/GYN Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) functions as a member of the OB/GYN medical care management team. May diagnose medical conditions, plan, and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is a professional nurse licensed in Florida to function in an expanded role to provide primary health care to individuals, families or groups. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
- Performs initial and on-going assessments of self-care, psychosocial needs, education, environment and discharge planning, incorporating information from the identified significant other and other health providers.
- Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures that are basic to the screening of physical signs and symptoms.
- Utilizes fetal monitoring screening for auscultating, monitoring, and assessment of fetal heart tones.
- Assesses learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious practices, language barriers, emotional barriers, educational level, motivation and limitations.
- Documents patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements.
- Manages the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted jointly by the certified nurse midwife, and attending physician. Review and revise protocols/guidelines annually. Addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, educational, and discharge needs.
- Initiates referrals to external or internal care providers or community agencies as needed.
- Seeks appropriate resources to clarify information concerning the nursing/medical care regime as needed. Coordinates care by collaborating with physicians and others to obtain appropriate services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.

- Provides and Expedites Patient Care in Units and ICUs: performs H&P's and dictates into chart, writes admitting/progress notes into patient chart, writes discharge summaries and orders as directed by supervising physician, initiates standing orders for patients both pre/post op, performs pre-operative visits and follow up exams, completes specific procedures under the direction of the physicians including, but not limited to removal of chest tubes an NG tubes and wound care, and provides system management of Surgical practice patients as per medical staff privilege delineation.

The role you’ll contribute:

May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of the hospital’s medical staff department’s policies and procedures. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Thorough knowledge of techniques required for diagnosing, treating, prescribing medicines for pre- and post-operative patients.

Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Vascular Surgery Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team in Ocala, FL. This role supports both inpatient and outpatient care, providing comprehensive pre- and post-operative management, assisting in surgical procedures, and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the vascular surgery team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and medical history reviews.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans.
- Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests (e.g., labs, imaging, ECGs).
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound care, drain management, and infection control.
- Assist in major surgical procedures and perform minor procedures independently.
- Serve as first assist in the operating room, including surgical closures and intraoperative support.
- Perform hospital rounds, discharge planning, and coordinate follow-up care.
- Participate in on-call coverage, including evenings and weekends.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and recovery.
- Document all patient interactions and care plans accurately in the medical record.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality care.
- Serve as a preceptor for nurse practitioner students and contribute to staff development.
- Support workflow optimization and protocol development for improved efficiency and safety.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner Studies required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, or a related surgical specialty.
Licensure & Certifications
- Current Florida ARNP license.

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:
- Performing physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of radiology patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings
- Orders appropriate diagnostic tests
- Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
- Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
- Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
