Location: Dade City, FL - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner, Surgery: General

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (surgical). The ARNP may diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Depending on the practice, ARNP may be required to work and/or be on call on weekends.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Provide services similar to those of a physician.

  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
  • Sees patients both in the hospital setting and practice setting.
  • Depending on surgical specialty, may work with assigned physician(s) in endoscopy or
  • OR Assists with in-office procedures with physician and or may perform minor procedures independently.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • MSN (Masters of Nursing)
  • One years experience
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Provides direct care with licensing credentials under the auspices of supervising MD.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Licensure as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Florida.
  • Advanced Registered Nurse Certification Continuing education required to maintain licensure

Nurse Practitioner, Surgery: Vascular

The Vascular Surgery ARNP or PA will function as a member of the medical care management team.  Will provide medical treatment under the supervision of the attending physician.  Medical care will be provided within the framework of the hospital's medical staff privilege delineation criterion.  He/she will provide self-directed, effective care to groups of patients and other duties as assigned in accordance with Division of Services standards.  The observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirmed; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health and prevention of illness and others.  

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

  • Active Physician Assistant License and Certification OR ARNP License and Certification in the State of Florida 
  • 2+ years' experience in specialty area upon hire
  • Required Valid AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certifications NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification 

Location: Port Charlotte, FL - Specialty: Physician Assistant

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking to employ a Physician Assistant to join our growing Electrophysiology Cardiology practice in Port Charlotte, Florida. Position includes inpatient consults, accesses, and a multi-functional role in the hospital setting. In-patient responsibilities may include some weekend availability.

The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Physician(s) who acts as the collaborative practitioner(s), is responsible for:

  • Performing physical examinations of patient’s evaluation and treatment of radiology patients in the outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Orders appropriate diagnostic tests
  • Monitors the patient’s course of treatment and makes appropriate referral to either a physician or specialist, as needed
  • Collaborates with physician supervisor and staff, as necessary to provide consistent care to patients and support to staff
  • Displays a caring and professional attitude at all times as well as maintaining personal and professional growth
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, and the public
  • APP will see a mixture of pediatric and adult patients

Schedule Details:

  • Schedule is Monday – Friday

Required Education and Experience:

Licensure, Certification, and Registration:

  • Current, valid Florida PA/APRN license or Registered Radiology Assistant
  • Certification by NCCPA, ANCC or other nationally recognized certification organization
  • BLS and ACLS required
  • Current, valid DEA license
