Location: Ocala, FL - Specialty: Nurse Practitioner
You Will Be Responsible For:
- Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
- Performs initial and on-going assessments of self-care, psychosocial needs, education, environment and discharge planning, incorporating information from the identified significant other and other health providers.
- Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures that are basic to the screening of physical signs and symptoms.
- Utilizes fetal monitoring screening for auscultating, monitoring, and assessment of fetal heart tones.
- Assesses learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious practices, language barriers, emotional barriers, educational level, motivation and limitations.
- Documents patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements.
- Manages the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted jointly by the certified nurse midwife, and attending physician. Review and revise protocols/guidelines annually. Addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, educational, and discharge needs.
- Initiates referrals to external or internal care providers or community agencies as needed.
- Seeks appropriate resources to clarify information concerning the nursing/medical care regime as needed. Coordinates care by collaborating with physicians and others to obtain appropriate services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.
What You Will Need:

Job Summary:
The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is a professional nurse licensed in Florida to function in an expanded role to provide primary health care to individuals, families or groups. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.

The Role you'll contribute:
The APRN functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (surgical and non-surgical). The ARNP may diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.
Principal Duties and Job Responsibilities:
- Provide services similar to those of a physician including but not limited to:
- Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
- Formulates and implements a treatment plan for acute illness management in collaboration with the designated primary supervising physician and/or attending back-up physician(s) and documents as necessary.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, explaining the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of procedure(s) to patients, patient's family, staff, and healthcare learners.
- Focus on patient wellness and disease prevention/
- Provide health education services and/or counsel patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices
- Participate in code blue and rapid response teams to provide immediate critical care support.
- Procedures performed, but no not limited to, insertion and management of arterial catheters, central venous caterers, pulmonary artery catheters, chest tubes and other procedures commensurate with an ICU environment, CPR; airway management including bag and mask ventilation, endotracheal intubation and extubation, repositioning endotracheal tubes; and defibrillation.
- Directing administration of life supporting drugs according to established protocols
- Performs and participates in quality/performance improvement activities, process enhancements, regulatory compliance, and clinical research
- Will need to work weekdays, weekends, nights and holidays
Education and Experience Required:
- MSN (Masters of Nursing) (Acute Care Certificated Required)
- 1 year as APRN in the ICU
- Previous Experience in a leadership role (preferred)
- Provides direct care with licensing credentials under the auspices of supervising MD
Licensure, Certification or Registration Required:
- Acute Care Certificate Required for APRN's
- Current ACLS and BLS Certification
- Current, valid Florida APRN License
- FCCS, ATLS Certifications (highly preferred but not required)

AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) is seeking 2 board certified/eligible general ob/gyns to join our leading women's health care team at AdventHealth Tampa as a faculty member for our Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program. If you are passionate about teaching with a desire to provide whole-person care as part of a team that values and respects physicians, we would love to speak with you!
Along with our Program Director and academic leadership team you will be helping to create a team of general ob/gyn physicians, working in collaboration with OBGYN hospitalists, Gynecologic Surgeons, FPMRS, and MFM physicians. We highly value teamwork, collegiality, and patient-centered care. You will have a voice in how your team cares for patients and provides innovative resident and student education!
Primary scope of practice will include seeing patients in the clinic, teaching in the clinic and hospital, and taking 3 (24hour) call shifts per month. Gynecologic surgery can be incorporated into your practice, although not required.
Scope of Core Faculty responsibilities include participating in the recruitment, selection, instruction, supervision, evaluation, and advancement of residents. All Core Faculty members are expected to be role models of professionalism, demonstrate commitment to the delivery of safe, quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care, and demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents.
If desired, this position also offers leadership opportunities and the availability of participating in media events focused on patient education and community health. Our leaders also offer mentoring if desired.

AdventHealth Family Medicine Residency in Wesley Chapel is hiring a PhD level behaviorist to join our faculty to educate and empower the next generation of family physicians. The behavioral medicine faculty is an essential member of our team and a faculty colleague.
The position itself will be 60-70% clinical & 30-40% administrative. The clinical time will be a mix of precepting residents and individually rendered patient clinical care. The ideal candidate would have some level of both clinical experience as well as educational experience working with residents.

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking to employ Pulm/CC physicians in Lake Wales and Winter Haven, Florida. The physicians would join dynamic, hardworking physicians with excellent support staff. Outpatient practice and inpatient consult services for pulmonary medicine. 8 ICU-bed unit, e-ICU coverage at night and weekends, working with AHMG CC providers. No call requirements for ICU.
Requirements: Board Certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine and Critical Care.
