We are seeking a dynamic, board certified, and experienced physician with Graduate Medical Education leadership experience post training.

AdventHealth Tampa is proud to be expanding its Graduate Medical Education footprint. Our Internal Medicine Residency Program welcomed its inaugural class in 2023, followed by the launch of our General Surgery and Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Programs in 2024. These programs reflect our commitment to training the next generation of compassionate, skilled physicians. In addition to our Tampa-based programs, we launched Family Medicine Residency opportunities at AdventHealth Wesley Chapel in 2024 and AdventHealth Ocala in 2025, further strengthening our regional impact and dedication to medical education. 

Basic Function

The Associate Chief Academic Officer (Associate CAO) is responsible for fostering medical staff relationships, oversight of administrative and academic structure, the clinical learning environment, compliance and other regulatory requirements for Graduate Medical Education (GME), at their designated participating clinical sites and programs. Final oversight performed by the Chief Academic Officer/Designated Institutional Official of the Sponsoring Institution.

Major Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, academic and administrative oversight guidance to GME Program Directors and Faculty.

  • Develop and advocate for a culture of learning based on the mission of AdventHealth Graduate Medical Education (GME).

  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all GME Department and Human Resources policies and standard operating procedures.

  • Review and obtain site approval of annual operating and capital budgets for all assigned programs.

  • Ensure that protected time is assigned to all program directors and faculty, as appropriate, to effectively carry out educational, administrative, and leadership responsibilities of GME.

  • Cooperate promptly with the sponsoring institution and accreditation bodies for information, documentation, site visits, etc. Acts as the DIO designee for any official ACGME business as appropriate and assigned.

  • Meet with Program Directors and Associate Program Directors regarding assigned program, site, or trainee issues and faculty concerns as they relate to academic operations and impact on the learning and working environment. Report information as necessary to the CAO/DIO and GMEC.

  • At the request of the CAO/DIO meet with residents/fellows and medical students regarding GME concerns and participate in trainee forums, wellness initiatives, student and CME activities.

  • Engage in professional development applicable to responsibilities as an educational leader.

  • Collaboration with Medical Research to enhance opportunities for the Medical Education Programs.

  • Lead Clinical Learning Environment Review site visits at the primary clinical/participating site.

  • Collaboration with the Medical Education Administrative Director, GME Managers, and additional GME staff.

  • Be the primary liaison between the CAO/DIO at the sponsoring institution and the primary clinical/participating site

AdventHealth West Florida Division Women's Services is seeking an Executive Medical Director. The director's medical specialty can be OB/Gyn, Maternal Fetal Medicine or Urogynecology. This leadership role will be 60% administrative and 40% clinical time.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Physician shall provide clinical direction, oversight, and physician leadership to all AdventHealth employed Ob/Gyn practices in West Florida.

As Executive Medical Director, the physician leader provides strategic and clinical leadership that drives measurable improvements in patient outcomes, operational efficiency, and quality performance across the hospitals. The physician leader collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams to standardize care pathways, implement evidence-based practices, and align physician engagement with organizational goals. In addition to outcomes-focused leadership, the physician leader plays a key role in physician recruitment, onboarding, and staffing optimization—ensuring the service line is supported by high-quality clinicians and structured to meet both current demand and future growth. The work strengthens clinical excellence while building a sustainable, high-performing care team.

AdventHealth, one of the largest faith-based systems in the country with 55 hospitals in 9 states, is recruiting a Neuroimmunologist for our Neurology Residency Program. Our West Florida Division is experiencing tremendous growth with 15 hospitals and is one of the fastest growing divisions in the company with over 800 employed physicians and APP's. We are seeking a dynamic, board certified, experienced Neurologist for new residency program affiliated with AdventHealth Tampa, the largest tertiary center hospital in the West Florida Division and 2nd largest hospital within the company. AdventHealth Tampa has 626 beds with the new edition of our Taneja Center for Surgery in 2022.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an accredited Neurology residency program.
  • Fellowship training in movement disorders or a related subspecialty preferred.
  • Currently Board Certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
  • Florida Medical license (or eligibility for licensure).
