AdventHealth Tampa, a 626-bed tertiary care center in AdventHealth West Florida Division (now comprised of 14 hospitals), is seeking a board certified, highly motivated, and experienced Chief of Cardiac Surgery for the Pepin Heart Institute at AdventHealth Tampa. This individual should be accomplished in all facets of cardiothoracic surgery, leading a team of cardiovascular surgeons and have interest in research and teaching. The AdventHealth Cardiovascular Surgery group located at Pepin Heart Institute, includes a well-established group of 4 cardiothoracic surgeons, as well as our AdventHealth Medical Group Heart Care at Tampa including interventional, structural, non-invasive, heart failure, EP and vascular surgery physicians.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of CT Surgery Chief experience

Located in the city's uptown district, AdventHealth Tampa serves Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, and the surrounding counties. The hospital is a known leader in implementing minimally invasive and robotic-assisted procedures and recently opened the Taneja Center for Surgery, a new six-story, state-of-the-art surgical and patient tower. Other specialty services include 24-hour emergency care for adults and pediatrics, cardiovascular medicine, digestive health, neuroscience, orthopedics, women's services, pediatrics, oncology, endocrinology, bariatrics, wound healing, sleep medicine and 3 new residency programs starting in 2023-2024.

Pepin Heart Institute provides comprehensive cardiovascular services and is Accredited by the American College of Cardiology with centers for transcatheter valve therapy, cardiac catheterization, cardiac electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, chest pain and myocardial infarction therapy and holds the National Center of Distinction designation as a HeartCare Center. Work Hours/Shift: Full Time

Will Be Responsible For:

  • Provide services similar to those of a physician.
  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking to employ an experienced board-certified General Surgeon to join our practice for Davenport, Florida.  The surgeon has access to up-to-date technology, DaVinci Xi, tenure staff, and very engaged leadership from AdventHealth Medical Group and AdventHealth Heart of Florida.  The surgeon would join 3 general surgeons, a surgicalist, and bariatric surgeon.  The medical group in the area has 33+ providers and plans to double within the next year, increasing the primary care to around 30 providers. The expectations of the surgeon would be to perform bread and butter surgeries, enjoy working with a team, collaboration with peers and extending AdventHealth's mission, vision and standards to our community.  Hospital/ED call is 10 days a month, to include 1 weekend and patient/practice call 1:4.

AdventHealth, one of the largest non-profit, faith-based systems in the country with 54 hospitals in 9 states, is recruiting an experienced bread and butter general surgeon for AdventHealth Tampa. AdventHealth West Florida Division is experiencing tremendous growth with 15 hospitals and is one of the fastest growing divisions in the company with almost 500 employed physicians and APPs. We are seeking a dynamic, board certified, experienced General Surgeon with 5 years of teaching and additional research experience for our employed general surgery group. AdventHealth Tampa started a new general surgery residency in 2024. AdventHealth Tampa is the flagship/tertiary center hospital in the West Florida Division with 626 beds and also the 2nd largest hospital within the company.   

The Taneja Center for Surgery brings these new features to AdventHealth Tampa:

  • 96 new private patient rooms, with space to add 36 more
  • 24 beds that are Intensive Care level; the remaining 72 are PCU level
  • 18 spacious and state-of-the-art operating rooms with space to add six additional ORs
  • 72 new pre- and post-op rooms, with space to add 23 additional rooms
  • 300,000+ additional square feet (adding to the 1 million square feet on our existing campus)
  • Six brand-new floors
  • A new main entrance to the hospital, which includes a two-story atrium and lobby with various first-floor amenities

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking to employ an experienced board-certified General Surgeon for locations in Davenport and Lake Wales Florida.  Full-time surgicalist opportunity, 7 days on and 7 days off with 3 extra days, totaling 17 shifts a month. Schedule could be modified. Services include ED, hospital rounding, surgeries but no clinic time. 7 days covering AdventHealth Heart of Florida and 7 days covering AdventHealth Lake Wales, with 3 additional days covering which ever hospital needs the coverage.  Coverage would not include both hospitals on the same day.  The surgeon must enjoy collaborations with their colleagues and be a team-player with the medical staff, medical group & their staff.  No clinic is expected during the shifts.
