AdventHealth Tampa Core OBGYN Faculty Roles

AdventHealth is seeking 8 experienced OB/ Hospitalists to join our Academic OB/GYN Residency Program at AdventHealth Tampa. Along with our Program Director and academic leadership team you will be joining General OB/GYNs, Gynecologic Surgeons, FPMRS, and MFM physicians.

Responsibilities of the OB/GYN Hospitalist provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care in a hospital setting, ensuring high-quality, round-the-clock care for patients. Responsibilities include managing labor and delivery, responding to obstetric emergencies, performing deliveries and surgical procedures, and collaborating with nurses, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes. Additionally, hospitalists provide consultative services, support emergency department evaluations, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives. As part of a Graduate Medical Education (GME) program, the hospitalist will also play a key role in mentoring and supervising OB/GYN residents, providing hands-on training, overseeing clinical decision-making, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional development. This role is ideal for physicians who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are committed to providing exceptional, patient-centered care while shaping the next generation of OB/GYN professionals. Flexible schedules will include fourteen 12-hour shifts OR seven 24-hour shifts per month.

We are seeking physicians with the following qualifications:

  • Current medical license (M.D. or D.O.)
  • Board certification or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Certification in adult and neonatal resuscitation
  • 5 years minimum of Labor and Delivery experience 
  • Proficiency with hospital EMR systems

AdventHealth Ocala, a 385-bed hospital in central Florida, seeks a BC/BE Pediatrician to join our growing Graduate Medical Education Team.

The program started in July 2025 with 8 residents per program year. Our team currently includes an experienced Program Director, Assistant Program Director and 3 Core Family Medicine Faculty, plus well-trained, dedicated clinical staff.

The role you’ll contribute:

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients. Provides medical treatment under the supervision of the physicians for AdventHealth Medical Group. Conducts patient examinations and follow-ups, provides treatment plans, and counsels patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. This medical care will be provided within the framework of AdventHealth Medical Group and the hospital’s medical staff department’s policies and procedures.

  • Assesses patient health by interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and identifying medical and surgical conditions.
  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
  • Assists with in-office procedures with physician and or may perform minor procedures independently.
  • Interpreting test results of patients.
  • Provide post-procedural follow-up care in the outpatient practice setting.
  • Will diagnose and treat in collaboration with the supervising Cardiologist adult cardiovascular patients in addition to a variety of chronic health conditions including but not limited to diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia etc.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or MSN degree 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • State of Florida Registered Physician Assistant License or APRN
  • Valid American Heart Association BLS, ACLS certification
  • Continuing education required to maintain licensure
