Structural Heart Medical Director

AdventHealth Tampa, a 626-bed tertiary care center in AdventHealth West Florida Division (now comprised of 13 hospitals), is seeking a board certified, highly motivated, and experienced Structural Cardiology Medical Director. This individual should be accomplished in all facets of interventional cardiology including complex percutaneous intervention, mechanical support, percutaneous valve therapies and have an interest in research and teaching. The AdventHealth Medical Group located at Pepin Heart Institute, includes a well-established group of interventional, structural, non-invasive, advanced heart failure and electrophysiology physicians.

Pepin Heart Institute provides comprehensive cardiovascular services and is Accredited by the American College of Cardiology with centers for transcatheter valve therapy, cardiac catheterization, cardiac electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, chest pain and myocardial infarction therapy and holds the National Center of Distinction designation as a HeartCare Center. Active cardiovascular research programs are supported by the AdventHealth Research Institute.

You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Incorporates patient, physician, customer needs and concerns into decision-making and organizational action.
  • Performs initial and on-going assessments of self-care, psychosocial needs, education, environment and discharge planning, incorporating information from the identified significant other and other health providers.
  • Utilizes skills of observation, inspection, palpation, percussion and auscultation using diagnostic instruments or laboratory procedures that are basic to the screening of physical signs and symptoms.
  • Utilizes fetal monitoring screening for auscultating, monitoring, and assessment of fetal heart tones.
  • Assesses learning needs, readiness, and capabilities of patient/family, including cultural, religious practices, language barriers, emotional barriers, educational level, motivation and limitations.
  • Documents patient care findings within established standards and accreditation requirements.
  • Manages the medical plan of care prescribed for the client, based on protocols or guidelines adopted jointly by the certified nurse midwife, and attending physician.  Review and revise protocols/guidelines annually.  Addresses physical, psychosocial, spiritual, developmental, educational, and discharge needs.
  • Initiates referrals to external or internal care providers or community agencies as needed.
  • Seeks appropriate resources to clarify information concerning the nursing/medical care regime as needed.  Coordinates care by collaborating with physicians and others to obtain appropriate services, including multidisciplinary team meetings.

Job Summary:

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is a professional nurse licensed in Florida to function in an expanded role to provide primary health care to individuals, families or groups. The Certified Nurse Midwife functions in a collegial relationship with physicians and other health professionals in the delivery of primary health care services. They are able to make independent decisions with physicians in carrying out health regimens for families and clients. The Certified Nurse Midwife is directly accountable and responsible to the patient.

AdventHealth Ocala seeks an Associate Program Director for our Family Medicine Residency Program starting in July 2025 with 8 residents per program year. Our team currently includes an experienced Program Director and 3 Core Family Medicine Faculty, plus well-trained, dedicated clinical staff.

We're looking for an Associate Program Director who has the desire to be a part of a growing program, a passion for medical education and who will place a priority on collaboration, quality of care, and the patient and resident experience.

The Associate Program Director will share the responsibility for administering and maintaining an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME and ABFM competency areas.

Candidates must be board certified in Family Medicine and will ideally have at least 3 years of graduate medical education experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Full time. Split schedule of resident supervision, personal clinical, and administrative time
  • Work with Program Director on program accreditation, resident recruitment, rotation scheduling, curriculum development and resident coaching.  
  • Serve as a senior member of the program evaluation committee and clinical competency committee.

AdventHealth Medical Group is seeking to employ Family Medicine Physicians to join our Family Medicine Residency Program in Sebring, Florida.  The program opened in 2021, with 8 residents per year. Obstetrics is not required but available.  With a new program, there is availability to develop areas that are passionate to you.  

Our 15,000+ square foot facility has so much to offer, from Prompt Care, to OB, to Family Medicine.  We have a wide range of patients in our growing community and a variety of cases & procedures for the residents to have a great experience in learning and practicing.
