GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Associate CMO is responsible for assisting the Tampa CMO in improving clinical outcomes for internally tracked performance improvement data and publicly reported outcomes. The Associate CMO assists the CMO in performance improvement, risk management, continuing medical education, medical staff office, medical school affiliation(s) and residency programs. The Associate CMO serves as physician advisor to the Case Management staff and serves as physician liaison to promote appropriate utilization of resources by the medical staff. Performance improvement efforts will result in improved service for patients, medical staff members and lower cost.

  • Leads in the continuing adoption of evidence-based medicine by the medical staff and the protocols that come with evidence based model approach.
  • Provides counsel and physician perspective at senior leadership discussions and action plans related to business growth, service expansions/changes, improvements, new service offerings inclusive of all operational and strategy decisions.
  • Serves as a clinical leader to the hospital’s medical staff providing guidance in case management, appropriate levels of care for patients, efficient utilization of resources, and enforcing compliance with laws and organizational policies.
  • Utilizes performance improvement measurements to continually implement practice/protocols that enhance clinical quality standards and to establish the hospital’s standing at the top of publicly reported measures.
  • Works with the medical staff and applicable departments or leaders to provide cost effective solutions for various medical equipment without compromising patient safety.
  • Works with medical staff to obtain appropriate documentation and assist case management with clinical interpretation necessary to ensure appropriate payment for services rendered are received and third-party payer denials are minimized.
  • Facilitates, coordinates, and oversees the expansion of the hospital into long-term, profitable and clinically beneficial relationships with medical schools while developing and overseeing applicable residency program(s).
  • Continually enhances medical knowledge through a regular program of reading, research, seminar attendance, and active membership in professional associations.
  • Attends and adds value at applicable meetings by providing counsel and relaying a physician perspective.
  • Represents the hospital to the external market, as well as, building community relationships.
  • Actively leads in physician recruitment and retention strategies and activities.
  • Completes annual quantifiable review of the service provided by each executive contract in place with the hospital for the board quality committee.
  • Oversee the medical staff office function insomuch that data necessary for the medical staff and board are prepared to make decisions relative to privileges and credentials.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Doctor of medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Six years professional, post-residency experience in direct patient care
  • 3-5 years in a leadership role within a medium to large integrated health system

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • Master’s Degree in Health or Business Administration
  • Six (6) years in a medical staff leadership role within a medium to large integrated health system

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

  • Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state where facility located
  • Certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties in respective specialty

Location: Tampa, FL - Specialty: Medical Administration, Medical Director

AdventHealth West Florida Division Women's Services Institute is seeking a Medical Director. The director's medical specialty can be OB/Gyn, Maternal Fetal Medicine or Urogynecology. This leadership role will be 50% clinical and 50% administrative time.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Physician shall provide clinical direction, oversight, and physician leadership to all Ob/Gyn practices in West Florida.

  • In collaboration with AdventHealth Medical Group (AHMG) leadership, addresses clinical, behavior or operational concerns with providers raised by other providers, patients or staff 
  • Works with AHMG leadership regarding short and long term planning of physician and APP staffing 
  • Establish and implement standard clinical protocols, policies and procedures, in accordance with ACOG guidelines, for the delivery of patient care. Ensure protocols are consistently practiced across the group. Educate and correct practices that deviate.
  • Focus on the effective delivery of patient care services offered by the Practice and the Practice’s compliance with the standards of applicable accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies having jurisdiction over one or more aspects of the Practice 
  • Reasonably participate with AHMG Leadership in its investigation of patient complaints and/or claims related to the stated practices
  • Advise AHMG leadership relating to the purchase of clinical supplies, materials, and equipment necessary to practice according to the established clinical protocols
  • Serves as a mentor to new physicians added to AHMG Ob/Gyn practices.
  • Cooperate and participate with Employer in order to establish a “consumer-centric” environment and assist Employer in the management and resolution of complaints from patients and Medical Staff;
  • Make or direct the making of such reports and records as may be required by regulatory bodies, whether public or private, and by Employer;
  • Assist in the design and development of patient information, medical record, and consent forms for use within the Practice
  • Provide recommendations for in-service training of practice staff to support clinical outcomes.
  • Advise on the provision of inpatient services for hospitals with Women's Services and establish quality standards.
  • Partner with business development to provide input on growth strategies for OBGYN service lines.

AdventHealth West Florida Division seeks a BE/BC Endovascular Neurologist as we expand our Neuroscience Service Line and become a Comprehensive Stroke Center.  This position will cover Adventhealth Tampa and AdventHealth Wesley Chapel.

AdventHealth Dade City/AdventHealth Zephyrhills is recruiting an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner to join AdventHealth Medical Group Cardiology. There are two office locations, Zephyrhills and Dade City. AdventHealth Zephyrhills has 149 beds and AdventHealth Dade City has 120 beds.

The Cardiac Electrophysiology Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) functions as a member of the Cardiovascular Services medical care management team. The Cardiac Electrophysiology APRN may diagnose medical conditions, plan, and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Practice Registered Nurses. Depending on the practice, the APRN may be required to take practice call.

Requirements for the position:

  • Licensed as APRN in the State of Florida or ability to obtain
  • Minimum of 3  years’ experience as a RN in the Cardiology setting
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as Cardiology APRN and 1 year experience as a Cardiac Electrophysiology APRN preferred.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

The role you'll contribute:

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (surgical and non-surgical). PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide services similar to those of a physician.
  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
  • Focus on patient wellness and disease prevention.
  • Provide health education services and/or counsel patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices.
  • Will need to work weekdays, occasional weekends and nights for call coverage.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • MSN (Masters of Nursing)
  • One years experience
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
