Job Description Summary:

This position provides advance practice nursing care across the continuum of care services related to patients that present with valvular disease that may require a broad spectrum of advanced surgical or interventional treatment and services. This position may be involved in research clinical trials, patient and professional educational programs and patient follow-up. Emphasis is on the team approach. The role of the structural heart nurse practitioner will evolve over time to meet the needs of the patients and of the advanced valvular disease cardiovascular team. Ideal candidate should have:

  • Ability to perform (or desire to learn) office procedures

Education, Licensure, and Certification Required

The role you'll contribute:

The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner functions as a member of the medical care management team for physician practice patients (surgical and non-surgical). The ARNP may diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement treatment collaboratively agreed to in the Florida Hospital Physician Group medical staff delineation of clinical privileges for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Provide services similar to those of a physician.
  • Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals and otherwise treat health conditions.
  • Focus on patient wellness and disease prevention.
